Reminders, treatments, inventory
Reminders
- "Remind me to check Bench 1 for queen cells in five days."
- "Done with the mite wash on Bench 3." — completes the matching reminder. Any wording, any language.
Reminders live in the reminders screen (bell icon) and work offline like everything else. An open reminder for an apiary also rides that apiary's loadout as a task line, and a reminder that names what it needs ("put feeders on every colony") packs those items too.
Treatments
Treatments are part of the inspection story — say them as you work:
- "Did OAV." — logs against the colony you are on.
- "Treated all colonies in Rodman with Apivar." — logs the treatment on every colony in that apiary at once, with one removal reminder for the apiary. The same works for a pallet, a range or a list (see Colonies).
- "Formic strips on Bench 1, day one."
Later, "when did I last treat…" reads it back with dates.
Hot-day check: log a formic treatment when it is dangerously hot and Stinger warns you out loud with the current temperature — in your organization's measurement system, Fahrenheit or Celsius (formic acid in high heat can harm the colony) — and holds the record until you say "go ahead" (or "leave it" to drop it). Confirming logs it with the override on the record; staying silent logs nothing. If Stinger is already asking you something about the same sentence, it asks that first and adds that the formic treatment was not recorded because of the heat — say it again afterwards to get the hot-day check.
Treatment courses
Stinger keeps each colony's current course — the product and every dose, strip in or strip out, with its date — and knows when a course is finished, the way the product's US label describes it. Ask "what's the status of Bench 1?" and it tells you where the course stands, for example "Apivar in 30 days, removal due November 2" or "oxalic acid vaporization, 2 doses logged".
- Apivar, Apistan and oxalic strips run until you log the strips out. Apivar and Apistan are due out at day 42; past day 56 Stinger says the course is past the label maximum. Oxalic strips have no label maximum in Stinger.
- Apivar 2.0 is its own product: strips stay at least 42 days, up to 70 with brood in the hive — say "Apivar 2.0" so Stinger uses its longer limit.
- HopGuard runs in rounds of 14 days; each round's strips come out by day 30.
- Apiguard is two trays, two weeks apart. ApiLife Var is three tablets, a week to ten days apart.
- Formic Pro and MAQS: both strips at once, or one now and one later — Stinger works out which from what you log. Their spent strips do not have to be removed, so the reminder says the course is complete.
- Oxalic acid vaporization and dribble: a dose followed by a week with no other dose is a finished course — one dose in a broodless spell, or a knock-down. Doses less than a week apart count as one course. Say the method — "OAV", "dribble" or "extended release"; if you say only "oxalic acid", Stinger asks which.
Treatment series. A series of dose reminders keeps its spacing. Do a dose late, early or snooze it, and the later doses move with it — Stinger tells you the new date. Doses always stay at least three days apart; a snooze you ask for that lands closer still goes ahead, with a spoken warning. Saying the treatment out loud on that colony ("did OAV on Bench 1") ticks off that colony's dose. A series for a whole apiary or the whole organization is ticked off once every colony in it is logged, one at a time or all at once; until then Stinger tells you how far along you are, for example "logged on 4 of 12 colonies". Undoing one colony's treatment opens the dose again. Logging Apivar strips keeps one removal reminder, counted from the day you put them in.
Inventory
- "How many medium supers are in the warehouse?"
- "I bought 50 deeps." · "Used 10 formic pads." · "Set deep frames to 200."
Boxes you add or pull during an inspection are recorded when you describe the physical act ("supered up", "pulled the honey supers"). Adding items to track, reorder levels, stopping tracking and your own items are on the Inventory page.
Crew
- "Invite Sam as a worker." — opens the invite form with the name, role and email you said filled in. Nothing is sent until you tap Generate Invitation Code; the form is also under Members.
